Regular Pond Maintenance

Seasonal maintenance that makes sense

For most garden ponds, the most useful maintenance is either once a year or twice a year, timed around the start and end of the main growing season.

This keeps the pond and equipment under control without paying for unnecessary visits throughout the year.

Autumn & winter maintenance

Once the leaves have fallen, an end-of-season visit helps prepare the pond for winter and prevents organic waste building up until spring.

This can include:

  • Removing fallen leaves and debris

  • Cutting back pond plants

  • Cleaning the filter and pump

  • Checking equipment before winter

  • General tidying of the pond

Spring maintenance

Around March, we can carry out a full start-of-season service to remove debris and dirt that has built up over winter and get the pond ready for the warmer months.

This can include:

  • Cleaning accumulated winter debris

  • Cleaning the filter and pump

  • Checking the filtration system

  • Replacing UV lamps where required

  • General inspection of the pond and equipment
